ABOUT

HEAVEN’S GATE RV PARK AND RETREAT YOUR GATEWAY TO A MEMORABLE CAMPING EXPERIENCE.

You can feel your cares slip away as you drive down the tree lined road towards your family-friendly destination. Heaven’s Gate seems remote yet is easily accessible to the busy outside world. Only 40 miles from Mena, Arkansas, 18 miles from the quaint town of Talihina, and mere miles from the beautiful, scenic Talimena Drive. Nestled in the beautiful Winding Stair Mountains, Ouachita National Forest and adjacent to the ever-changing Billy Creek. Heaven’s Gate offers up to 20 campsites with electric and water. Two horse pens are included for each campsite, additional pens are available if needed. There are also 3 covered stalls available. A 60ft round pen is located in the center of the campground for public use. There is also a covered pavilion that has seating around a large firepit, Smoker, BBQ grills, tables, coffee maker and heaters for those chilly nights. We now have a Camp Host/Chef that has Friday and Saturday dinners available. She also offers scones/pastries for breakfast.

Equestrians, Hikers and ATVers love the countless, diversified trails, ranging from wide, winding, logging roads, numerous water crossings, challenging ascents, descents and creek bottom wandering paths. No matter which trails you choose or what level rider you are, there is something for everyone with unlimited panoramic views, unusual rock formations, and always the perfect photo opportunity.

Come explore the peace and beauty of our mountains. Dip your toes in the aqua colored water of Billy Creek or dive into the refreshing Blue Hole after a day on the trails.

Terrain is often rocky. Shoes are recommended for horses. Your hostess, D’Anna Miller, will be happily point you in the best direction.

GUEST REVIEWS

"Loved this private oasis among the big trees that smelled heavenly by the way. This campground was in a perfect location close to horseback trails in Ouachita Nat'l Forest. Trails nicely marked and easily 5 or more days of riding to be accomplished so will be back. The campsites were peaceful and clean offering picnic benches, round pen, fire pits, wheelbarrow for manure removal, map, and shady spots for cooler summer afternoons. The trails offered many miles of magnificent scenary and spots to have a nice lunch. There are plenty of water crossings to keep horses hydrated and the water was cool and clear. Anxious to bring additional friends along to sample this heavenly place."
